TBF is an independent church, and is made up of people from a wide variety of denominational backgrounds united by their faith in Christ and a desire to grow spiritually via study of the Bible.

Why no regular Sunday Evening Services?
There are two basic reasons why TBF does not have a regular Sunday evening service. (1) Our Sunday morning major teaching time is almost a full hour of detailed study of the Bible including specific practical applications to everyday life. Rather than giving our folks more information than they will be readily able to apply, we would rather encourage them to focus on thinking through and applying that which they have already been taught that day. (2) By having Sunday evenings free from regular services, TBFers have this "time slot" for relationships with their family, their friends, or their neighbors. Sunday evenings are a great time for family activities, informal fellowship with friends, or personal outreach to folks who have never received the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior.

TBF Logo

Our TBF Church Logo Emphasizes:
1: The Cross: the SAS (substitutionary atoning sacrifice) of Christ
2: The Resurrection-literal/supernatural/bodily resurrection of our Savior
The logo came out of the cross and the arrow marking often used on overhead transparencies during Sunday 1st Hour and Wed PM Bible Study…the actual logo itself was designed by graphic artist (and Bank President) Ben Herrington in conjunction with the 20th Birthday of TBF in 1996.

What does TBF believe?
We believe that in the essentials, believers should have unity; that in the non-essentials, believers should enjoy liberty, and that in all things believers should demonstrate charity (love). The essentials of historic orthodox, biblical Christianity are:

Who God Is: Triune, Transcendent, and Personal; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19-20)

Who Christ Is: The God-Man, full deity and full humanity in one Person (Colossians 2:9)

Who Man Is: Human beings are spiritually dead, sinners by nature and by behavior (Ephesians 2:1-3)

What Christ Did: Perfect life, full substitutionary atonement on the cross for the sins of the world, literal, physical, supernatural resurrection from the dead (2 Cor. 5:21 ; 1 John 2:1-2; 1 Cor. 15:19 -25)

What Man Must Do: Salvation by God's grace through faith alone in Christ alone (Acts 16:31 ; Romans 4:5; Ephesians 2:8-9)

What Christ Will Do: Literal, physical, supernatural second advent in power and glory (Acts 1:11 )

Why doesn't TBF pass an offering plate?
One aspect of our church's ministry that many people notice immediately is the fact that we do not pass an offering plate. We do certainly believe that financial giving to the Lord through the local church is an important act of obedience for believers, as both a privilege and a responsibility. However, the Word of God makes it clear that giving ought to be an individual and private act of worship (Matt. 6:1-4). The use of offering plates can put pressure on people "to perform" and may motivate them to contribute for the wrong reasons. TBF has an offering box on the back table in the auditorium to receive whatever financial gifts believers desire to give to support and to sustain the ongoing ministry of the church.
